First things first this is not your walk in and hope for a table situation

Tucked dramatically along the canyon rim in Twin Falls, Idaho, is one of my longest-standing obsessions — Elevation 486. Let’s be clear, this isn’t just a restaurant. This is a mood, a view, and the kind of place where you start planning your next visit before you’ve even left the table. But before you get too excited and start picturing yourself casually strolling in, let me save you the heartbreak: make a reservation. This place is popular and for good reason.

The energy? Upscale, classy, and unapologetically sophisticated, which you know is my happy place.

The rolls you will dream about forever

Every meal here begins with freshly baked rolls and huckleberry butter. Sweet. Savory. Fluffy. Perfect. Back in my pre-dietary-restriction days, I would’ve fought you for the last roll. Now, I simply sit there with my glass of wine, silently blessing whoever is still lucky enough to experience them. Years later, I still remember the exact texture and taste. Yes, they were that good.

The tomato bisque I would marry if I could

Here’s the thing, I’ve had tomato soup at countless restaurants, and Elevation 486’s tomato bisque makes every other version feel like a sad little afterthought. It’s hearty, chunky, buttery, and perfectly filling without tipping into “I need a nap” territory. I’m not exaggerating when I say I have dreams about this soup. This is not a drill. This is a life-altering bisque.

Prime rib perfection on a plate

Listen, I’ve played the field with this menu. I’ve tried a little of everything over the years. But every single time I come back for the star of the show: the prime rib.

They say “herb-crusted” and they mean it. This isn’t just a sprinkle of seasoning, it’s a flavor-packed, aromatic dream with a crust that gives way to the juiciest, most tender medium-rare center. If you order it anything above medium rare, I’m not sure we can be friends.

The side that secretly steals the show

Now, I know sides are supposed to be the supporting cast, but the coconut rice here? It could headline its own show. Light, fragrant, and subtly sweet, it’s the perfect contrast to the richness of the prime rib. Plus, the portions are generous, so you’ll be walking out with a to-go box that promises an equally glorious lunch the next day.

Wine not

You can’t sit here with canyon views and not order wine. They have a lovely selection, including some fantastic local options. My personal pick? The huckleberry wine. Fruity, smooth, and dangerously easy to drink...consider yourself warned.

Final thoughts from the canyon rim

If you’re visiting Twin Falls, Elevation 486 isn’t just “a good option” — it’s the option. Between the killer views, the kind of service that makes you feel special, and food that will live rent-free in your memory forever, this place has rightfully earned its spot as one of my favorite gems.

And for brunch? Try their sister restaurant, Milner’s Gate. The mimosas are so strong I had to make Kods drive home. You’re welcome.

See ya later loves.
